Last assignment of the '09-'10...

1)http://www.ehow.com/how_6520334_instructions-lcd-screen-cell-phone.html
Well this one is kinda cool. It applies mainly to iPhone users because we all know they break extremely easy. So if your screen is cracked.. Take a look at this.

2)http://www.ehow.com/how_2160460_custom-iphone-ringtones-free.html
Everyone loves free ringtones. As for the iPhone, well they're hard to freely obtain. They charge $1.00 for the song usually and another $0.99 to convert it to a ringtone. This eHow may be time consuming but if you really like ringtones, it's for you.

3)http://www.ehow.com/how_4802481_install-turbo-car.html
Ahh, the sound of a turbo BOV (blow-off valve) is like music to a car lovers ears.. but the task of installing one and tuning it is a car lovers nightmare. This is just an entrance into the turbo world, but it gets you started.

4)http://www.ehow.com/how_2049803_give-neighbor-his-dog-crap.html
All I can do is laugh at this one. My neighbors don't usually do this to my yard. But if they ever do this is exactly what's going to happen. Hopefully it is still moist when I launch it on their roof.

5)http://www.ehow.com/how_2079881_pull-tube-behind-boat.html
This one is mainly for all those sissys who don't know how to hit the gas. One thing I can't have fun doing is sitting in an tube behind a boat going 10MPH. Step up and be a man, floor it. Cause that's when the fun begins.

6)http://www.ehow.com/how_103_check-oil.html
Some people just don't know anything at all.. Like how to check the oil. In driver's education classes, they show you how to check tire pressure and other various things on the car. I never remember them once popping the hood to check the oil. In my opinion.. If you can't check the oil, don't drive a car. Please, for the sake of the poor vehicle. CHECK THE OIL.

7)http://www.ehow.com/how_5225619_make-farting-machine.html
Who thinks of this? I mean really, WHO? The fart machine may bring many histerical laughs, so be warned. This ones kinda dumb, because the remote controlled ones are more to play tricks than this, but I'll probably end up trying it one day.

8)http://www.ehow.com/how_4599098_wheelie-your-motorcycle.html
This ones cool.. Mainly because I can actually do it. I see a bunch of ignoramous unskilled biker noobs try this all the time. Most fail, but it brings a good laugh.

9)http://www.ehow.com/how_5508095_do-burnout-almost-car.html
Alright Mrs. Melancon, I know I shouldn't do it. But it's SO much fun, haha. We all know it looks cool and feels awesome to do these, so go behind wal-mart and try it already.

10) http://www.ehow.com/how_2255870_drag-race-faster-any-upgrades.html
In drag racing the time is all that matters. These are some pretty good tips to cheaply pull your times down at a significant rate. The slightest bit can change a time in ways you would have never thought of.

For the newspaper students of next year. Here are some tips included to pass and obtain a great grade in this difficult journey through Journalism. I honest;y had a huge blast in this class this past year, and I hope to still be a part of the NP staff next year as well.(JK about the difficult part;])...
You may notice that there are many blog assignments. In my opinion, these are one of the dreaded parts. It's never fun having to type about something you don't know about. So when you go to do it, research your topic a bit, in the end it jsut makes it easier to write on and definitely makes it go faster.
For 50 newspaper ideas the steps are simple and easy. Write 50 ideas. In my case, I just wrote 48 one word things after I wrote my 2 that actually could be written about. When the day comes where we sit in a circle and share, just come up with a few legit ones to get by. JK again, do them right. ;)
If I was the editor of the newspaper, I would be Nathan, haha. Or for next year, Danielle. But really I think I would actually spend more time trying to writer better because everyone looks up to the writings of the editor. That's how everything in life is.
This summer should be a good time. This Friday I leave for Washington D.C. and am not that stoked about it. 34 hours of driving in the car does not sound fun to me at all. But on the real I'm excited to finally go somewhere different for a vacation. I should be going to a lot of the museums while I'm there. Other than that I plan to go to the beach 4 or 5 times and make a lot of fishing trips with my dad as well as Caleb I'm sure. I'm looking forward to just spending a lot of time with all my friends and livin' it up.

Thanks Mrs. Melancon!

To start out, this year has been somewhat crazy in Journalism class..but without the seniors it would have been NOTHING.
Chase is a different dude for sure. He loves himself some music. If you ever need to know some good music, he's your go-to guy. He also likes to play baseball and just chill out with his friends. Without him in the class I think that I speak for all of us when I say, we probably would have laughed 95% less than what we did. His drawings for the paper and our t-shirts are pretty killer aswell.
Oh then there is Nathan. He's definitely the #1 contributer to the BCS Lion's Roar. He always (usually) has his stories in on time, better yet, EARLY. And his letters from the editor are always great. You can always expect to laugh at his stories, because they are highly entertaining. You can normally catch him kickin' it all the baseball field taking pictures, or chilling with friends and catching all the ladies.
Lakeisha, oh Lakeisha. She's a pretty crazy chick. She's always up on facebook. She likes to sing and write, which is pretty legit if you ask me. Aswell, she also writes the "Kidz Korner" and handles it well. She always has something pretty cool for the younguns. Me and her argue a lot, jokingly of course!
Chelsey, where do I start.. I never even really said anything to you until you came to this class. You're pretty cool though, which I never knew. My guess is that you like to hangout with ya man, and friends as well. Plus you work a whole lot. You hated playing any of the games, and/or doing work, lol. But it's all good, you weren't really in "Journalism" but we count you as one of the team.
Sarah, you crazy. I started getting to know you in Art class this year, but when you moved into Journalism I got to know you even better. You like to do whatever, you're chill just doing something (other than working:]). You have a huge imagination which makes you a great writer. You're always nice, no matter how much people bug you with their junk.
Tina, you're pretty cool. I remember you used to be in my class, but you jumped up on us all. Which is cool by me. I got one thing to say to you... yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow ... NO PATTERN FOR YOU!
Bria, I don't know you a whole lot. What I do know is that you really have a passion for the hurting people, and you like to write about it. For example, the people involved in the earthquake, and some of the other happenings that were recent.. Aswell, I hope that they catch the person who hurt your puppy, Sorry.
ALL of the senior played a big role in this class. I hope that all of you go on and make it big in life. And that you all are successful through college. You will all be missed so very much.

Ahh, my year in Journalism

This school year is coming to an end quicker than my past years at Bethany. this year has been pretty fun, but has also had some pretty sucky moments. I don't think I could cover the whole year in 5 paragraphs, but I shall try!
When it started I was somewhat nervous about Journalism.. I didn't like to write, nor did I like to research. The first paper we began to plan got me a lil more interested than I thought I would get... All because of being able to write on Motocross. After this, it only got better.....
Part way through the year we began writing lots and lots of blog assignments.. These were some of the sucky times in this class. 50 newspaper ideas was another one, which nobody liked at all. Although it did help us in our writing. Weather we want to admit it or not.
In this class we had many hilarious moments. Chase and Nathan are the main reason for the majority of them. As well as the moments behind the scenes. We also had many hilarious moments in the paper. That's Crazy! had a lot of them as well as everyone elses storys and parts of the paper. Just today we had one of the funniest of them all... You shall see it in the next paper. (Hopefully)
As the year is coming to a close it makes me somewhat sad.. The newspaper as well as the school will be losing some great people. A few of which kept us laughing all of the time. Along with that is Nathan, our editor and chief of the paper for the past 2 years. He has wrote some very good letters from the editor for the paper. They will all be greatly missed by all of the members of the BCS Lion's Roar Newspaper staff. Hopefully next year we will still have a paper so I can be in Ms. Melancon's class again. She's probably the best teacher ever. To end I would like to say goodluck to all of the seniors that will be leaving.. Stay close to God and I'm sure you will succeed.

RLM

I have never been to the Rural Life Museum before but after some research I have found some good information on it. The facility is very large and includes a large number of things to see. I will mention a few of the items.
The Flat Boat. The Flat Boat is like a small boat that is flat and able to float with a load of weight. It was built in 1830. When the house was built the Flat Boat was built as well. It is held in a barn and is on rollers so that if a flood came the family could quickly board it, along with the animals they may have owned.
The next thing is the "Kitchen Garden". This was a small fenced in garden near the kitchen of and old house. It is not to be confused with the large fields that they used for farming real crops. They were packed full of a mixture of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and many other small plants.
Schooling in the 1800s was a mixture of things. The richer chillllren got to be personally tutored. The middle class chillllren went to an academy. And the not so fortunate went to public schools.
The log cabin. The log cabin was built in the 1800s by a 1600s design. They were not very big but they could easily be very pretty. They were made of all wood. Some of their features may be old school. But I'm sure they will still be pretty fancy. Log cabins also happen to be my favorite type of house.
This is not all of the items to view at the Rural Life Museum so get to moving and take a trip to there. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking you will not regret it

Summer is here and ice cream is near.

Summer is just around the corner and when it is we all know we like some cold and tasty treats. Although there are many to choose from including: Sno Cones, Popsicles, Shebert and even Italian Ice. Amongst all of these choices none are the greatest. The most popular is actually Ice Cream. There are many different ice creams shops and they all have some very crazy and individual flavors. Although there are so many to choose from, the top ten are not too out of this world. There are so many different flavors that are around. Some of which have names that are not appropriate at all. Now there is not an actual top ten list for the craziest flavors but a few are; Corn and cheese (Asian). Olive Oil (Italian). Meal Mix Up, which is composed of mashed potatoes, cheese, gravy, sausage, and peas. One thing we will never know is how we come to think of these crazy flavors, and also how we decide which flavor is our personal favorite. All I'm sure of is that ice cream is a great treat for those hot summer days that are coming up. Followed are the top 10 Ice Cream flavors of all time along with the top 10 craziest flavors.

All the President's Men

In the movie "All the President's Men" Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein worked for the Washington Post. They found something fishy in the election of Nixon. Now I'm not super sure on some of the details but they were trying s to uncover some sort of illegal White House spending, along with some break-ins and also some spying on the other party. I'm not too sure on why they were spying, but my guess is to be that they were just trying to get any information they could. "Woodstein" worked extremely hard to find information and facts on this scandal. They went straight to the source of every single lead they had gotten. Even going through a whole list of names to try and find some stuff out. They must have used 20 tanks of gas trying to drive and pick up facts from people. Carl even went in the early hours of the morning to meet with a guy they called "Deep Throat" and picked up a lot of facts. They also had to be extremly careful because they had many buggers out trying to spy on them. Even though they were doubted a whole bunch in the end all their hard work payed off. They solved the mystery. I thought the movie was really good.
